Ciatè London Palette: An Autobiography

Hey there, my name is Tim. I'm a Ciaté London Trend palette, born and raised in the land of the free - the USA! I am a highly pigmented, versatile, bronze-toned palette, that can create a multitude of day-to-night looks.

It was the happiest day of my life when I found out that my best friend Coco, (a similar Trend palette) and I were being sent to Sephora to be a part of their makeup collection, unlike some of our peers who were being sent to Ciaté London outlets in different malls, where they were to be sold at discounted rates or as part of deals with other, discontinued products.
Arriving at Sephora, we couldn’t believe our eyes. I considered myself to belong to a high-end brand, but we were displayed next to drug-store brands, far away from other high-end brands (like Dior, Rare Beauty, etc.,) that I secretly considered my fellows. The worst thing that happened there was that Coco and I were separated. Coco became a tester while I was displayed inside a shelf. I felt bad for my friend who was so roughly used and unnecessarily swatched by almost every shopper for 2 years until she was shoplifted by a teenager.
I lost count of the years I spent at the Sephora shelf, waiting to be picked up by a makeup enthusiast and do what I was meant to do. A few months before my expiration date, I was sent back to the Ciaté London warehouse, unlike half of my peers who were sent to T.J. Maxx and Marshalls. I was terrified of my future. I did not want to be smashed down and reincarnated into something else. To my surprise, I was sent to a makeup subscription box service: The Mighty IPSY! There I met a lot of different brands, many of which I didn’t even know existed. We were a pretty popular brand here and my peers had been included in the glam bags frequently for years. I failed to make many friends there because I did not like talking to small, annoying sample-sized products that were supposed to be free but somehow ended up with high-end (wink wink) products like me.

Products from better or renowned brands were so heartbroken and depressed, that talking to them made me wanna kill myself. I did, however, manage to make a friend, named Icy, that reminded me of Coco as she looked exactly like her. We sat there for about 3 months until we finally saw our pictures in the spoilers of the IPSY glam bag Plus (now known as Boxycharm) for the upcoming month. Our peers were included in every single one of the PR boxes. I was included in someone’s glam bag plus (now Boxycharm), leaving behind Icy, who was picked up by someone from the drop shop shortly after. I hope she finds peace and happiness.
I was accompanied by a Complex Culture Mascara, a Refreshments hand cream, a Matte liquid lipstick by m2u NYC, and black liquid eyeliner in the Glam bag plus. I was confident that I was the best product my dear owner was going to get this month.

I was unboxed live on a YouTube channel. I was shocked to see no signs of excitement on the face of my dear owner. She was a very famous influencer with about 2000 subscribers on YouTube. She announced that she would include me in a future giveaway, so she didn’t even swatch me. I was so horny and couldn’t believe my luck. I was on a clock here, but no one seemed to care. After the video, she put me away on her pile of makeup. It was so congested, most of us could hardly breathe but after a few days, I got used to it. There I met Gin: a Natasha Denona Retro Glam eyeshadow palette.

I was a huge fan of hers, but she wouldn’t talk to me because of her superiority complex. She claimed that she came here in an IPSY Glam bag X (now known as the Icon Box), and didn’t want to be bothered by low lives like myself. Even my fake British accent didn’t seem to impress her as everyone knew I was born and raised in the USA. I made friends with a Huda beauty coral mini palette named Tan. She was like me in appearance.

She was a little bit more expensive than me, but she said that she had seen her peers being sold on Mercari for $8, which had made her humble and down to Earth. She also told me the truth about Gin, that palettes like hers were included in Glam Bag X a few months ago, but she was not one of them. Our owner had bought her from the IPSY drop shop for a ridiculous price that had made Gin bitter to the core.
I lay there for about a month until the winner of the giveaway was announced. To my dismay, Tan was included in the same box as me. I loved her with all my heart, but I was nervous about how our new owner was going to feel about two similar palettes in her gift box. Luckily, the new owner was a sweet, shy girl who was only starting to get into makeup. She felt more comfortable with nude shades like mine, so I became her go-to palette. Her big sister was a bit more comfortable with makeup, so she gave Tan to her, and everyone and everything lived happily ever after.
